As a barber, coming to work is so much fun! When I graduated from cosmetology school, I realized that I enjoy barbering much more than cutting and coloring longer hair. I prefer the structural aspect of shorter hair styles.
My focus has been on a more traditional style cutting like crew cuts and comb-overs, but with modernized elements, like a tight fade. I started cutting professionally when I was 25 years old. I have a passion for honoring the trade and its traditions andhave beenhoning my skills and techniques for over 5 years.
Working in a salon, youtypically only see a few clients each day. I love seeing the volume of people a regularday at Barber on 24th provides. It suites my style so much better.
As an added bonus, Barber on 24th is close to some of the best colleges and universities in the city. Many of my clients come from diverse academic backgrounds and are doing fascinating innovative research. In fact, I was so inspired, I enrolled in a bachelor’s program at Temple University for political science and philosophy. So when I’m not working, I’m likely to be studying or doing school work. I’m known to my friends as one of those“readsfor fun” book nerds. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
